, .

.

.

.

ATTACHMENT 2

FPR 00-521
South Weld 1-25 Corridor Master Drainage Plan, February 17,2000.

KEY ISSUES:
. The master plan study was prepared by Anderson Consulting Engineers in their Fort Collins office.

. Project sponsors include Weld County, Dacono, Dacono Sanitation District, Erie, Firestone, Frederick,
St. Vrain Sanitation District, and Tri- Town Sanitation District. CWCB staff provided technical
assistance to the project as well on behalf of Weld County.

COMMUNITY RESPONSE:
A description of the CWCB designation process was included within the report. The Weld
County project manager for this study was contacted via telephone by CWCB staff to discuss
the study and the floodplain designation process. Verbal consent was granted for the staff to
proceed with review, and for the Board to designate and approve the study. Any revisions or
changes to the study or project will be brought to the Board's attention at a future meeting:
Therefore, formal designation and approval for this study is being taken under Rule 9.D.l,
community request.

SUMMARY:
The staff recommends Board approval of the floodplain resolution for Weld County, and the
affected communities within the county, designating the February 17, 2000 master drainage plan.
Formal action by the Board will assure that the floodplain information has been appropriately
recognized by the state, thereby complying with state statutory requirements. The designation
request for this study has now been tabled until the September 2000 Board meeting at the
request ofthe community.

5
