<br />, <br /> <br />4. FPR 00-523: Mesa County/Clifton. Floodplain Management Study, Douglas Wash at <br />Clifton, Colorado dated July 2000 was prepared by the Natural Resources Conservation <br />Service and includes detailed floodplain information for Douglas Wash within <br />unincorporated Mesa County. The requested action for this report is designation and <br />approval by the Board in order to meet statutory requirements. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />5. FPR 00-524: Basalt/Pitkin County. Floodplain Information Report, Roaring Fork River, <br />Basalt Area, Colorado dated June 2000 was prepared by the Matrix Design Group for the <br />town of Basait and Pitkin County. This study includes detailed floodplain information for the <br />Roaring Fork River. The requested action for this report is designation and approval by the <br />Board in order to meet statutory requirements. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br />Attachments I through 5 swnmarize the key issues and findings of the staff review for each of the <br />floodplain studies for which designation has been requested. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />The detailed floodplain information being considered for designation and approval as outlined in <br />Resolutions Nos. 00-523 and 00-524 meets the applicable requirements of the Board's "Floodplain <br />Designation and Approval Rules", therefore designation and approval is recommended for those 2 <br />studies. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The request for designating the detailed floodplain information contained in Resolution No. 00-521 <br />is being tabled until the September Board meeting at the request of the community. <br /> <br />Staff requests that the resolution number for the City of Sterling is re-assigned from 97-469 to 97- <br />520. <br /> <br />The approximate floodplain information being considered for designation and approval as outlined <br />in resolution no. 00-522 meets the applicable requirements of the Board's "Floodplain Designation <br />and Approval Rules", therefore designation and approval is recommended for that study. <br /> <br />Designation 87-283, Flood Insurance Study (FrS), Town of Basalt, Eagle and Pitkin Counties, by <br />FEMA dated June 4, 1987 is not representative of current flooding conditions in the Basalt area, <br />due to changed topographic and hydraulic conditions, therefore, it is recommended that 00-524 <br />replace and rescind Designation 87-283. <br /> <br />PROPOSED MOTION <br />The Board, having reviewed the Board memorandum and accompanying Attachments I, 2, 3, 4, <br />and 5 summarizing proposed Floodplain Resolutions Nos. 00-520 through 00-524, now moves as <br />follows: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2 <br />
