Evans ewes Director Colorado Water Conservation Board Members FROM: Dan McAuliffe Deputy Director Larry Lang and Tom Browning DATE: July 17,2000 SUBJECT: Consent Agenda Items 4-2.a through 4-2.e, July 24-25, 2000, Board Meeting _ Floodplain Designation and Approvals EXECUTIVE SUMMARY . Consent Agenda Item 4-2.a through 4-2.e includes 5 floodplain studies proposed for CWCB action. A brief summary of the studies is presented below. . I. FPR 97-520: City of Sterling. Floodplain Analysis, Pawnee Creek Overflow dated February 3, 1997 was prepared by a private consultant and was previously designated and approved by the Board. The request for this study is to officially change the resolution number from 469 to 520 due to a clerical error. 2. FPR 00-521: Weld County. South Weld 1-25 Corridor Master Drainage Plan dated February 17, 2000 was prepared by Anderson Consulting and includes detailed floodplain and master plan information for the "tri-town" area of Weld County (vicinity of Dacono, Frederick, and Firestone). The requested action for this report was intended to be designated and approval by the Board, however a last minute request was received by the County to table the designation until the September Board meeting. 3. FPR 00-522: Town of Grand Lake. Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) dated January I, 1986 was formerly a Flood Hazard Boundary Map prepared by the Federal Insurance Administration, and later converted to a FIRM by letter from FEMA. This map includes approximate floodplain information for two flooding sources within the community. The requested action for this report is designation and approval of the 1986 FIRM by the Board in order to meet statutory requirements.
