.

.

.

· Increase the allocation for the Diversion Structure Inventory by $10,000. This project is the
inventory of the structurally deficient irrigation diversion structures on the South Platte River
downstream from the Henderson Gauge and will be used to market the Construction Fund loan
program, The inventory will include the size, type and condition of the structure and a
replacement cost estimate of the most deficient structures on the river.

· Use the remaining $10,000 to complete the Strategic Plan and for work associated with local
basin planning. Weare in the process of hiring Bouvette Consulting to provide professional
services related to supporting you in development of the revised Strategic Plan and post- Basin
Fact Sheet Report. Bouvette Consulting will utilize information collected through staff retreats
and workshops, staff interviews, public meetings, and discussions with the Deputy and Executive
Director ofthe CWCB for purposes of recasting the existing Strategic Plan (last revised in 1995),
The post Basin Fact Sheet report will be prepared by integrating information contained in the
Basin Fact Sheets, with insights gleaned through basin meetings conducted from August 2000 to
January 2001 and expanded upon through interviews conducted with staff, individual basin
leaders, and the Deputy and Executive Director. This effort will consume all of the funds
allocated for planning in FY 2001-2202.

Recommendation: Staff should reallocate funds as proposed.
