A collaborative effort between representatives
of the ten checkoffs has been established. The collaboration is called Checkoff Colorado. The effort has
resulted in a Public Service Announcement with Governor Owens, posters (including some on RTD busses),
flyers, and radio commercials. A press conference to publicize Checkoff Colorado is scheduled at the State
Capitol for January 15,2003. Representatives of all ten tax checkofffunds are expected to be there. Attorney
General Ken Salazar will address this press conference. It is hoped that this effort will increase contributions.

Recommendation

Staff recommends that the Board adopt the attached Grant Program Guidance for the Colorado Watershed
Protection Fund.

Attachment: Grant Program Guidance

e

e

Flood Protection.
