All those in <br />favor will signify by saying 'aye'; opposed - <br />the minutes are so approved. <br /> <br />I want to take this opportunity to ex- <br />press my appreciation to Bill Nelson for pre- <br />siding at the last meeting in my ab$ence. <br />Having read the minutes diligently, I know it <br />was an interesting meeting for him as well as <br />for members of the Board and certain guests. <br /> <br />Larry, will you review the Curecanti <br />Project and the current legislation before <br />the Congress?" <br /> <br />"Gentlemen, I would like to review briefly <br />what has happened this year on the legislative <br />scene with the preface that the year 1960 has <br />witnessed the greatest advancement the State of <br />Colorado has eVer enjoyed in the field of water <br />resource development. ~e started out this year <br />wi th many problems - this last fiscal year -which <br />is now drawing to a close - problems that <br />seemed almost insurmountable. <br /> <br />To begin with, there is now pending in the <br />Congress, and it seems certain of passage, the <br />appropriation for the Curecanti Project of <br />$1,400,000. Final approval of that appropria~ <br />tion is awaiting action in the Senate, 'I'!e I <br />expect almost any day now that the Public ~orks <br />.Bill will pass out of the Senate as recommended <br />by the House of Representatives. In addition <br />to the Curecanti Project, there is an appropria- <br />tion for construction of the Florida Project. <br />So with these two appropriations it means that <br />
