"It has been regularly moved and seconded
that the minutes of the meeting of May 11,
1960, be appro~ed as submitted. All those in

the minutes are so approved.

I want to take this opportunity to ex-
press my appreciation to Bill Nelson for pre-
siding at the last meeting in my ab$ence.
Having read the minutes diligently, I know it
was an interesting meeting for him as well as
for members of the Board and certain guests.

Larry, will you review the Curecanti
Project and the current legislation before
the Congress?"

"Gentlemen, I would like to review briefly
what has happened this year on the legislative
scene with the preface that the year 1960 has
witnessed the greatest advancement the State of
Colorado has eVer enjoyed in the field of water
resource development. ~e started out this year
wi th many problems - this last fiscal year -which
is now drawing to a close - problems that
seemed almost insurmountable.

To begin with, there is now pending in the
Congress, and it seems certain of passage, the
appropriation for the Curecanti Project of
$1,400,000. Final approval of that appropria~
tion is awaiting action in the Senate, 'I'!e I
expect almost any day now that the Public ~orks
.Bill will pass out of the Senate as recommended
by the House of Representatives. In addition
to the Curecanti Project, there is an appropria-
tion for construction of the Florida Project.
So with these two appropriations it means that
