an agenda, as a matter of fact, already. It
is that little blue book entitled "Western
Resources Conference". ~e would like to have
as many Board members as possible attend that
Western Resources Conference,"

"Mr. Miller sent out an announcement to
members of the Board and I'd like to have
him repeat that, if you will, Dave."

"~~. Chairman, in connection with the
Western Resources Conference, a part of it
will be what we think will be a two day
session on ground water in which we think
probably all of the western 17 states will have
a representative there to give a short
summary of the acts under which they oper-
ate and the problems as they have found
them to be. This is part of an effort,
under the direction of the Colorado Depart-
ment of Natural Resources of which Dr. Clark
is the Director, to set up a more workable
ground water law in Colorado and to determine
what direction and what objective we should
have.

The success of this conference, I think,
depends primarily now, so far as Colorado is
concerned, on the attendance of the members
of the Ground Water Commission and as many
members of the Legislature as possible. We
think at the end of the two day period those
who attend will have a pretty sound knowledge
of ground water problems as they are in the
west. So I appreciate the Chairman urging
you to attend and I surely second and endorse
his urging."
