Now we have not shaded in the lower
reservoir, the middle reservoir, which is
Morrow Point, but there is practically no
drawdown in that reservoir. That is used
as reregulation and powerhead for the power
plant which will be installed at the Morrow
Point Dam. That reservoir, therefore, for
all practical purposes, does not fluctuate
at all. The amount is so slight that you
can hardly observe it.

The capacity of Blue Mesa is 940,000
acre-feet. Taylor Reservoir, by contrast,
as most of you are familiar with, holds
approximately 106,000 acre-feet. So Blue
Mesa is approximately nine times the size of
Taylor Reservoir. It will be a long, deep
reservoir.

Morrow Point, the middle reservoir, has
a capacity of 117,000 acre-feet, of which the
minimum power pool is 102,000 feet, so you
see the fluctuation can only be 15,000 feet
which is a very small amount of water spread
over that distance. This reservoir is approxi-
mately twelve miles in length.

The Bureau has not yet prepared final
plans for the definite plan report on the
Crystal Dam and Reservoir site, which will
be in the heart of Black Canyon above the
monument but below Morrow Point. We will
not be able to see that site today because
Black Canyon below this point - below Morrow
Point - is accessible only by rubber boats
or other such means of conveyance. Crystal
Dam will be smaller in size but the power
production will be generally equivalent to
these other two reservoirs. Power produc-
tion at the Blue Mesa will be 60,000 kilo-
watts installed generating capacity, Morrow
Point 40,000 kilowatts installed generating
capacity, and Crystal Dam will probably have
somewhere in the neighborhood of 40,000 kilo-
watts also.

The combined power generating capacity
of these three power plants will be somewhere
in the neighborhood of 150,000 kilowatts.
