ECKLES: <br /> <br />possible to see that the budget cuts in these <br />vital areas are restored, whether it's by cuts <br />in other areas of our state activities or <br />whether it's by deficiency appropriation to <br />see that this Board and its staff is afforded <br />the funds with which to operate. And I hope I <br />am sounding a call to the Director of Natural <br />Resources and the Governor of this state that <br />we won't sit still for this to happen. This is <br />imperative. If we don't protect our water <br />somebody else is going to get it. This has <br />happened in the past and it will happen again <br />and if we allow this to happen this Board is <br />going to preside over the end of Colorado's <br />water development. <br /> <br />I think this is something where we can't <br />sit still and allow it to pass without this <br />Board taking every action possible to see that <br />the cuts are remedied and restored." <br /> <br />"Thank you, Mr. Eakes.
