I don't know the price per acre, what is
it, Paul? Ten or fifteen cents per acre
for dry land, maybe fifty cents per acre
for irrigation.

Well, they got together around the
first part of April this year and, somewhat
to th~ir surprise, t~ey found they had this
$65,000 goal almost within their grasp. The
money was either paid or else it was pledged.
Once they found they had this money in their
hands then they went ahead and signed the
contract with the seeder and after they were
finished with that, they began to be a
little concerned about whether or not they
were spending their money wisely and came
around and saw us."

"I have a question. When you speak of
the target area with winds that are asso-
ciated with that type of storm, how can
you delimit a target area and say 'This is
the target and this is the control'?"

"That's a tough one. When I talked
about target and control area, this is
going to have to be a control area that we
believe will be free of seeding effects
most of the time. I don't think there is
any adjacent region in Colorado or in
Nebraska that's free of seeding effects all
of the time. To.be specific, the target
area goes up about as far as north of
Sterling towards Sidney. On one occasion
I was about fifty miles northwest of there,
near west of Kimball, Nebraska, one Sunday
afternoon and I am sure there was silver
iodide over my head and a long ways to the
north and northwest with no effects say,
over the North Platte Valley towards the
north. I have been highly suspicious that
some of this seeding effect has also gotten
to us over Fort Collins which is around 100
miles away.
