The preliminary design includes 11.3 miles <br />of 48-inch diameter pipe and 4.1 miles of 54-inch diameter pipe. There are a total of 13 <br />creek crossings and a new, 3,250-foot long tunnel near the confluence of Plateau Creek <br />and the Colorado River. The District hopes to begin design this year and to start <br />construction early next year. Construction is expected to take two years. <br /> <br />Estimated Cost: $30.3 million <br /> <br />Existin2 Authorization: SB-30 in 1988 for $8.0 million of which about $1.6 million has <br />been disbursed leaving a remaining balance of about $6.4 million for design and <br />construction <br /> <br />. <br />
