<br />Enerqv qrade line - A line showing the change in total <br />kinetic and potential energy of the flow atf6tt a <br />tf6titietti6ri along the stream. <br /> <br />Equal Deqree of Encroachment - means established by <br />considering the effect on the hydraulic efficiency of the <br />floodplain along a significant reach of the stream, on <br />both sides. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Flood - A general and temporary condition of partial or <br />complete inundation of normally dry land area from: <br /> <br />(a) the overflow of stre~ms, rivers, or other inland water <br />bodies, or <br /> <br />(b} the unusual and rapid accumulation or runoff of surface <br />waters from any source. <br /> <br />Flood Insurance Study - means the official report published <br />by the Federal Emergency Management Agency that may include <br />flood water surface profiles, the Flood Boundary-Floodway <br />Map, and water surface elevations of the base flood. <br /> <br />Floodplain - An area of land periodically subject to <br />partial or complete inundation from a flood. <br /> <br />.Floodplain" Development Permit - An official document <br />required by Subsection 4.2.1 of these regulations for <br />development in a floodplain. Such permits are issued by <br />the Administrator, Permit Authority, or Board of Adjustment <br />pursuant to Section 4 of these regulations. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Flood Proofinq - Any combination of structural and <br />nonstructural additions, changes, or adjustments to <br />structures which reduce or eliminate flood damage to real <br />estate or improved real property, water and sanitary <br />facilities, and structures and their contents.. <br /> <br />Flood Hazard Boundarv Map (FHBM) - An official map of a <br />community issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />on which areas potentiallY subject to flooding have been <br />delineated. <br /> <br />Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) - An official map of a <br />community issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />on which the area subject to flooding by the base flood has <br />been delineated, either by approximate or detailed <br />engineering study, or both, and on which flood insurance <br />rate zones have been delineated. Such map may also include <br />the delineation of water surface elevations and floodway <br />boundaries. <br /> <br />Floodprone District (FPD) - An area, in and adjacent to a <br />stream or other water course, subject to flooding, which is <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-4- <br />
