the Bureau of Reclamation about how much
money would be needed to assist them and
be of definite benefit to the State."

"I have been asking the Bureau of Recla-
mation about this about once a month since
last Spring and only now have we arrived
at a point where sqme of this money could
be used."

"I would like to ask the coming Legis-
lature for a $100,000 appropriation."

GOVERNOR JOHNSON: "I talked to Steve McNichols about the
vacancy that was likely to occur in the
counsel of this Board and asked him if he
had any choice as to how it should be filled
and he did say that he wanted it filled by
the appointment of Felix Sparks and' that is
as much of a statement as I care to make.
As you know, I am going out of office" in a
very few days and it is more of the concern
of Governor-elect McNichols than it is my
concern. I would also be in favor of that
because Steve is going to take my place in
a very few days." .
