Water Project Construction Loan Program- <br />Changes in Existing Loans - Ute Water Conservancy District- <br />Plateau Creek Pipeline Project <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />The Ute Water Conservancy District, acting by and through the Ute Water Activity Enterprise, is <br />requesting an additional $9.60 million in funding for the District's Plateau Creek Pipeline <br />Replacement project. The District has a 1988 Construction Fund authorization of $8.0 million for <br />the project. <br /> <br />At the May 11-12, 1998 Board meeting, the District hosted a tour of the proposed pipeline route. <br />Also for the May Board meeting, CWCB staff prepared a memo describing the project in some <br />detail (May Agenda Item No. 8.a.). This memo incorporates portions of the May memo and <br />provides an update. Attached are a map of the project area and an updated project summary. <br /> <br />Backeround <br /> <br />The District service area encompasses about 240 square miles in the Grand Junction <br />metropolitan area with the exception of about seven square miles served by the City of Grand <br />Junction and several smaller communities. Table 1 gives some selected characteristics of the <br />District. <br /> <br />Table 1.
