1995 CWCB Construction Fund Bill, HB 95-1155

This memo is a summary of this year's Construction Fund bill ,as introduced in the House on
January 12, 1995. There are eleven sections in the bill.

SECTION I of the bill is the usual list of recommended project loans in priority order. This year's
bill contains 17 proposed projects totalling $11,094,500 as follows:

o Left Hand Ditch Company: The company has requested a $370,000 loan to enlarge the spillway
of Left Hand Reservoir in Boulder County. The feasibility study has been completed. The project,
which is for 75% of the project costs, will save the entire 1,624 acre-feet in the reservoir from
being restricted. by the State Engineer. The new stepped spillway and stilling basin will be
constructed with roller compacted concrete.

Red Mesa Ward Reservoir Company: The company has requested a $2,250,000 loan to'

rehabilitate and enlarge Red Mesa Ward Reservoir. The reservoir, also known as Mormon
Reservoir, is located south of Hesperus on Hay Gulch in La Plata County. The total cost of the'
project is estimated at $3,000,000. The reservoir has a capacity of 1,172 acre-feet. The project'
will resolve dam safety issues and enlarge the dam to increase the reservoir capacity by 2,900 acre-'
feet.
