I

I

MR. GOODWIN:

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. SPARKS:

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. ODELL:

completed. This year's work and activity is
going to consist of drilling, diamond drilling
work, principally on the Black Mesa conduit,
on the tunnel which has already been started
and on which some work was done last fall.

We will continue with our studies, particu-
larly on the new farm units on which we had to
get this basic information, the topographic
mapping. But we are going ahead on that proj-
ect and our optimum program would be that we
could go into construction approximately a
year from now."

"I see. Thank you."

"Are there any questions from members of
the audience on the report of Region 4?

Thanks, Bob.

There is a report on Region 5 in your
folders. Larry, are there any comments you'd
like to make on that report?"

"No, I have no comments."

"Then we'll turn to a report by Mr. Odell
for the u.s.a.s. Mr. Odell."

"Mr. Chairman, members of the Board, ladies
and gentlemen, first I think I'd like to intro-
duce a new member of our staff in the Water
Resources Division, Don Albin, who transferred
here recently from our Arkansas District. He
will act as Leonard Wood's assistant. So I am
sure you will be contacting him at times in
the future.

Runoff for most of the state has been
above normal since the snowmelt season and
spring floods of last year. The relatively
high runoff last month was primarily due to
unseasonably warm weather and may be detri-
mental to water supplies for the coming
irrigation season.
