with the Bureau. Mr. Moses believes that if we go along
with the other states at the 8ongressional hearings, be-
hind their projects, then the technical difficulties
which would arise because of the fact ours did not con-
form with the Bureau of Budget standard, would be over-
come. An authorization was made without even consulting
the Bureau of Reclamation, the Department, or the Bureau
of the Budget. He thinks if we can agree and wrap this
up in a bundle, the whole thing would go through.

Mr. Bailey asked if there were any more questions.

Mr. Pughe asked if the Juniper site could eliminate
a lot of controversy.

Mr. Tipton replied that Juniper site had been con-
sidered primarily, but it is now considered as dead.

Mr. Williams asked if Mr. Tipton knew if there were
any projects in Congress presented by the Corps. of En-
gineers.

Mr. Tipton said he did not know what was before the
Bureau of the Budget.

fur. Dutcher said that if there were no more questions
for Mr. Tipton, he would like to say that the Policy and
Review Committee considered this matter in detail last
week and he thought the ~ard should hear from the Policy
and Review Committee and a group from Western Colorado in
regard to the subject.

Mr. Bailey asked Mr. Cory if he would give the Board
his views.

Mr. Cory replied that he had a delegation from the
Western Slope and would like to have some of them intro-
duced to the Board. He then asked Mr. Peterson to intro-
duce his group.

Mr. Peterson first introduced Mr. Dodd, President
of the Uncompahgre Valley Water Users Association, and
he read the following report to the Board~

"It is estimated the total cost of Curecanti Water
Storage and Power Unit as about $53,000,000.

This storage will serve many useful purposes of
value other than those expressed by revenue from
