Any agreement may include provisions for limited financial or <br /> <br />. other assistance to encourage participation in the acquistion, protection, <br />and management of river resources. <br /> <br />"( 2) Wherever appropri ate in furtherance of thi s Act, the <br /> <br />Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of the Interior are authorized <br /> <br />and encouraged to utilize for activities on Federally owned land the <br /> <br />Volunteers in the Par-ks Act of 1969, the Volunteers in the Forests Act <br />of 1972, and for activities on all other lands section 6 of the Land <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 (relating to the development <br />of Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plans). <br />"(3) The appropriate Secretary or the head of any Federal Agency <br /> <br />may utilize and make available Federal facilities, equipment, tools, and <br />technical assistance to volunteers and volunteer organizations, subject <br /> <br />to such 1 imitations and restrictions as the appropritate Secretary or the <br />. head of any Federal agency deems necessary or desirable.". <br />SEC. 309. Section 12 is amended as follows: <br /> <br />(a) In s~bsection (a), add the following new sentence at the end <br /> <br />thereof: "The requirements of this section with regard to study rivers <br /> <br />designated in section 5(a) shall be effective for the time periods <br /> <br />specified in section 7(b) of this Act." <br /> <br />(b) Subsection (c) is amended by deleting the words "Secretary of <br /> <br />the Interior" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "Administrator, <br /> <br />Environmental Protection Agency". <br /> <br />SEC. 310.
