"Larry, you say that there is a possibility
cf forming three commissicns. I hcpe we will
ccnsider the possibility fer forming fcur in
the future because it may be cf benefit to have
a friendly tri-state commission on the Rio
Grande."

"That's \vishful thinking, isn't it?"

"There are any number of combinations of
commissions. We have three existing inter-
agency committees and I think we will pattern
the ccmmissions alcng those lines. The Rio
Grande is unique in that we only have three
states involved there and we alsc have an
interstate compact commissicn. But it is very
possible that we might want tc fcrm a commission
fer the Rio Grande and perhaps even one fer the
Republican cr even for the North Platte. This
depends on what, at a particular time, we decide
tc dc, and that's the decisicn we are going to
have tc make as these areas are brcught into
the river basin planning."

I know they want us tc be thrcugh at neon fer

rescluticn, as amended by Mr. Vandemcer, will

I might add, Larry, that I have a feeling
that there are a great many citizens who are
disturbed by the inflexible positicn that appar-
ently Senatcr Jackscn has taken and I think be-
fcre we take another stand en Central Arizona,
