will be justified. They will protect part cf
Canon city and the adjacent farming area.

I knew we are short for time and I am
net gcing to dwell at all on our River Basin I
studies although we feel they are very important
and the Water ccnservation Board has determined,
in consultaticn with the Service, the order of
studies and actually the kind cf studies that
would be made. I will point cut that the work
has been ccmpleted on the Gunniscn River. We
have a report en it. The main stem of the Colo-
rado was next and we have a report en it. \'1e
have repcrts in the precess cf development on
the White and Yampa Rivers. We propose to
make a study for the San Juan. I might point
out too in thisconnecticn that cliffcrd Jex,
whc I believe is here, is employed by the
Water ccnservaticn Board en this activity and
the material that he has developed in connec-
tion with these basin areas is incorporated intc
the river basin repcrts.

"Mr. Chairman, reference is made on River
Basin Surveys, page two, 'Work plans have been
approved for the White River, the Yampa River
and the Dolores River'. As I understand it,
the repcrts are not ccmpleted on these rivers."

the Gunnison and the main stem of the Ccloradc.
Of ccurse, they. are available, through ~tr.
Sparks' office, fer anyone whc may wish to have
a copy."

know the depletion or the quantity of the water
that will be used there?"
