In additicn to the regular streamflcw data
we collect rairtfali and water temperatures and
air temperatures at the point. Later en we
will expand the work to include some infcrma-
ticn en ground water in the basin; change in
runcff ccnditions; the distributicn cf runoff
throughcut the basin; and infcrmaticn on the
quality cf water and sediment.

Frank Welder of the Ground Water Branch
and Gene Shuter cf the Denver Equipment Lab ran
four packer tests on the USBM-AEC colorado Cere
Hcle NC. 2 en Duck Creek in the piceance Basin.
The transmissibility cf the fractured oil shale
is about 3,300 gallons per day per feet. Simi-
lar tests are planned on Core Hcle Nc. I en
Yellow Creek.

L. A. Weed and Jchn E. Mcore were subpcenaed
by the state to testify in the State of Colorado
vs. Reger Fellhauer hearing in Pueblc en August
8-10. District Judge William B. Rhcdes upheld
the cclcradc water law and issued a tempcrary
injuncticn. I think there will be scmething
further en that in the ne,ct ccuple cf mcnths.

J. A. r.lcCcnaghy has ccmpleted the manu-
script en the Denver Basin repcrts and was
transferred tc the Juneau, Alaska, WRD cffice
in July. D. L. Ccffin's repcrts en the Piceance
Basin are now in district review, and he has
transferred tc the Helena, Montana, vmD office.

Twc Engineering Aids have been added to the
San Luis valley prcject office bringing the
staff tc four. A surface water hydrclogist will
be added to the prcject staff this fall. An
Engineering Aid was transferred tc the Scuth
Platte prcject frcm New Mexico and field wcrk
is under way.

The fcllowing maps of part of the Arkansas
Valley were cpen-filed in August and arrange-
ments fer ccpies may be made with the Geclcgical
Survey's Public Inquiries Office, in the Federal
