Upper Basin reservoirs and Lake Mead is new
abcut 24.9 million acre-feet, which is about
3/4 millicn acre-feet more than at this time
last year and about 9.6 million acre-feet abcve
minimum pcwer cperating levels. Nith this
cushion we see no majcr cperating prcblems
thrcugh March 1967. Sncwrnelt runcff in the
spring cf 1967 will be a significant factcr in
cur cperaticns in 1967-68. We estimate that a
runcff equal tc 4~/o cf ncrmal for the 12-month
peri cd frcm April 1967 through March 1968 will
be sufficient to permit ccntinued pcwer cpera-
ticn cf Cclorado River Stcrage prcject units
while maintaining rated head at Hoover. There
has been only one year, 1934, during the 1906-66
pericd cf reccrd when the streamflcw was lcwer
than this minimum requirement."

"Whereabouts is that water?"

MR. CRANDALL:

"Right now at Powell there is abcut 8-1/2
millicn acre-feet there. The minimum level is
around 6.1, sc some cf it is there. Another
pcrticn cf it is in Mead. We are still a little
above rated head at Mead. I think these numbers
in tctal are here but that's where the water is,
Gcverncr, it's prcvided mcstly in pcwell and
some in Mead.

Under cur general investigations, feasi-
bility investigations, designs and estimates
have been ccmpleted en all features for the
Battlement Mesa project except Buzzard Creek
Dam. Estimates fer this dam are in progress
in the Chief Engineer's cffice. Reports have
been received frcm the ccoperative agencies
except the Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wild-
life and the Bureau of Outdccr Recreaticn. Pre-
liminary data can be furnished by these agencies
in advance cf their fcrmal reports, sc we de not
