Town of Akron - Well and Pipeline Construction <br />Authorization: Small Proj ect Loan Al ccount <br />Water Source: Wells - Camp Creek <br />Terms of Loan: $349,799 @ 3.75% for 30 yrs. <br /> <br />County: Washington <br />Project Yield: 530 ac.ft. <br />Project Type: Well/Pipeline Canst. <br /> <br />The Town of Akron provides domestic water to 1,711 residents, with approximately 880 taps, residential aI)d <br />commercial. Ten wells feed into a 1.5 million gallon above ground storage tank, constructed in 1996, for treatment and <br />distribution. Given the low production of the existing well, this project will add 2 new wells with 8,300 linear feet of <br />ductile iron transmission lines to the town's existing system. The Town of Akron is looking to have the wells <br />operational by spring of2005. Currently the project is approximately 85% complete. <br /> <br />20. Dolores Water Conservancy District - WETP ACK <br />Authorization: SB 01-157 County: Montezuma <br />Water Source: Dolores River Project Yield: 7,840 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $7,260,000 @3.50% for 30-years Project Type: Distribution System <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The District's WETPACK (Water for Everyone's Tomorrow Package) proposal is intended to better manage the <br />available resources of the Dolores Project to provide an additional 3,300 acre-feet of water for the fishery below <br />McPhee Dam, increase municipal water supplies, and to provide water of the irrigation of additional lands. This <br />project involves a system of pipelines, pumps, and related facilities to deliver water to the District's Dove Creek <br />Canal system for the irrigation of 4,000 acres of new lands that are presently dry land farmed. Water will be <br />delivered to irrigators in pipes under pressure for sprinkler irrigation only. Harris Water Engineers, of Durango, <br />Colorado, is the planning and design consultant for the project. The District has commenced construction of a <br />portion of the project referred to as Sandstone and is currently working with staff to re-scope their existing loan into <br />two separate loans. <br /> <br />21. Parker Water and Sanitation District - New Reservoir Construction <br />Authorization: Construction Fund County: Douglas <br />Water Source: Cherry Creek Project Yield: 16,200 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $15,000,000 @4,75% for 20-years Project Type: Reservoir Construction <br /> <br />The Parker Water and Sanitation District is currently in the design phase to construct the Rueter Hess Project for <br />the storage of municipal water for its 7,924 customers. The new reservoir will provide terminal storage for use <br />within the District's existing 8,596-acre service area. The reservoir will be located 3 miles southwest of Parker on <br />Newline Gulch. The proposed reservoir will be a Class I structure, 135 feet high, impounding approximately <br />16,200 acre-feet of water. GEl Consultants, Denver, Colorado, will be putting together the final design and <br />construction documents. Major land purchases have been completed and the project design has bee completed and <br />is ready for bid. Rueter Hess Reservoir is scheduled to commence construction in the summer of 2004 with <br />completion anticipated in summer of 2007. The Parker Water and Sanitation District is looking at securing total <br />project financing from the Water and Power Authority, which would eliminate the need for the current CWCB loan. <br /> <br />22. Mancos Water Conservancy District - Canal Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Perpetual Account County: Montezuma <br />Water Source: West Mancos River Project Yield: 9,000 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $5,486,531 @2.80%for30-years Project Type: Canal Rehabilitation <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Mancos Water Conservancy District supplies irrigation and municipal water within a 13,496-acre service area. <br />The District's carriage facility is over 50-years old and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation has recommended <br />
