<br />The council approved the water commission Sept. 9, about a year and half after the set up and break down <br />of the Water and Wastewater Commission, which had four representatives from the city and four . <br />reprcsentatives from the Mount Werner Water District. <br /> <br />The proposed commission will look at ways to create greater efficiencies for existing services, review <br />proposals for new services and integrate long-range water and wastewater planning with the city and <br />county's community plans. The board also will review water rights applications by the city and special <br />districts, water and wastewater rates, plant investment fees and dispute resolutions between the different <br />districts. Looking at consolidating water districts also will be on the group's to-do list. <br /> <br />Agency News <br /> <br />Personnel Search: We are narrowing the field of candidates for the Information Technology position and <br />the Office Manager position. I hope to be able to introduce our new employees to you at the next Board <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Decision Items Approved by Governor: The increases in Severance Tax Operational Account funding, <br />compact dues funding, and FTE for the Finance and Flood Protection Section were included in the budget <br />the Governor sent to the General Assembly.
