CU/O

On the upper South Platte Unit, Missouri
River Basin project, the tentative reservoir
operation studies were revised. They are
now being checked to determine if further
refinements are essential.

Ii

Hydrolo'y studies were made for sizing
Turkshead Afterbay and for determining mini-
mum fish flows. It was concluded that mini-
mum flows below existing Elevenmile Canyon
and Cheesman Reservoirs as recommended by the
Fish and Wildlife Service could usually be
met by the normal operation of the integrated
system.

Design data for TWO Forks powerplant,
Turkshead Dam, switchyards, substations, and
transmission lines were completed and trans-
mitted to the Chief Engineer for preparation
of feasibility designs and estimates.

Alternative cost estimates have been
developed for use in the economic analysis
of the unit.

Authorization is now being sought to
make the feasibility investigations on the
Front Range Unit, Missouri River Basin
Project. The study area will include Boulder
and St. Vrain Creeks and the Cache la poudre
,~i ver Basins.

Not sh~,n on the written re~ort but
also in this category is the Armel unit
out south of Wray. This development would
use water out of the constructed Bonny
,~eservoir .

On the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project,
construction of ;~uedi Dam is essentially
complete. The remaining wo~k consists of
only minor cleanup items. Water storage
commenced on May 21, 1968, and by July 31
the amount in storage was 39,217 acr~~feet.

I
