Members of <br />the Board, ladies and gentlemen, the report <br />of Region 4 is as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Under the Curecanti Unit, Blue Mesa Dam, <br />powerplant, arid switchyard were transferred <br />to operation and maintenance on April 1, 1968. <br />The Blue Mesa powerplant is now being remotely <br />operated and controlled from the Power oper- <br />ations Center at Montrose, Colorado. <br /> <br />Work has been substantially completed <br />under the prime contract for Morrow Point <br />Dam and powerhouse. The prime contractor <br />completed removal of his construction equip- <br />ment from the area during June, and <br />painters, electrical and metal workers are <br />presently engaged in completing the few <br />cleanup chores that remain. specifications <br />will be issued this fall for completion of <br />Morrow point powerplant and switchyard facili- <br />ties. Much of the electrical equipment has <br />been manufactured for the powerplant. Many <br />of the smaller electrical items are already <br />in storage on the project; however, turbines, <br />generators, and other large items of equip- <br />ment will be shipped from the manufacturers' <br />plants as needed by the completion contractor. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Rifle Substation was accepted as sub- <br />stantially complete July 20, 1968, and the <br />Hayden-curecanti 230-kv transmission line was <br />connected through the substation transfer <br />bus on July 31. work was resumed in the <br />Grand Mesa area late in May on access roads <br />needed for maintaining the Curecanti-Rifle <br />segment of the Curecanti-Hayden 230-kv trans- <br />mission line. The contractor has accomplished <br />nearly 90 percent of his work. We have been <br />very pleased with the progress made at the <br />Midway Substation. The contractor there is <br />e~ected to complete his work well in advance <br />of the November completion date. <br /> <br />On Bostwick Park, the contractor for <br />
