I

that time. We did have a meeting with the Board
of Directors of the Purgatoire River Water Con-
servancy District on the 28th of April and there
we explained to them again the operating proce-
dures on which the project was predicated and
pointed out - Mr. Sparks did in particular - the
necessary arrangements and agreements which will
have to be made both internally in the district
and with agencies outside of the district and the
transfer of the storage decree. Those were
pointed out and as I understood, they were going
to move ahead with those items.

I have had no indication from the Corps of
Engineers that there will be any change in their
schedule. Their definite plan report estimates
and plans are to. be ready about, well, in Decem-
ber of this year, following which we will be able
to complete our work on the financial analysis of
the irrigation function.

'".

I think we are all well acquainted with the
status of the Fryingpan. We have made evalua-
tions to reflect the conditions which the con-
gressional committee imposed on the project for
this year and we find that it is just as feasi-
ble as it ever was. Don't misunderstand me on
that, I mean it is feasible, not just as feasi-
ble as it ever was. It is still feasible and a
good project.

We have received a preliminary draft of a
report from the Fish and Wildlife Service recom-
mending some flows in the Arkansas River above
Salida and we are just getting ready to evaluate
that and see what effect it may have on our proj-
ect.

I

The Narrows Unit, we are moving ahead with
that as rapidly as we can. We hope that the
steering committee will be named very shortly
so that we can work with them. We intend to pre-
pare a packet of information - everything that
we have available - for the members of that com-
mittee as soon as it is formed. And we do also
hope that probably in June we will be able to
submit to the committee an evaluation of the
relative merits of the Narrows and the Weld
