In closing, I should like to emphasize that
our company recognizes that water is one of our
vital resources and its proper ut~lization, con-
servation, and development, is inseparably linked
to the continuing growth and economic progress of
this region. 1'1e believe that maximum use of
existing and proposed facilities of-area power
suppliers should be used to minimize costs of
multi-purpose Water development projects, contri-
bute to additional participating water projects
and maximize opportunities for tax revenues at
the local, state and national levels.

MR",- SARGENT:

"Ben, I hope we haven't taken too much time
with this thing. I realize the members of the
Board would like to attend the tour which is
scheduled for this afternoon. I simply'want to
say, Ben, that our engineering staff and our com-
pany people would be happy to go over any detail
on our backup material behind the figures which
we have presented here. today. We would be happy
to have the engineering people on the. staff of
the Water Board have the opportunity of becoming
familiar with our studies, and if our engineering
s.taff can provide any information to the staff of
the Water Conservation Board, we would-be only
too happy to do so."

"I would like to advise the Board as to the
present status of this matter before the Appro-
priations Committees in the Congress. You will
recall that in 1960 the Congress appropriated
certain monies to commence the construction of
certain non-controversial lines in connection
with the project. One of these lines is in the
line from Glen Canyon to Curecanti and the other
