<br />ATTACHMENT 2 <br /> <br />tit <br /> <br />FPR 99-494 <br />Flood Insurance Study, Arapahoe County, Colorado and Unincorporated <br />Areas, dated April 17 , 1989 (Cherry Hills Village portion only). <br /> <br />KEY ISSUES: <br />. The Flood Insurance Study prepared by the FEMA contains detailed hydrologic and hydraulic <br />information along with 100-year floodplain delineations for streams within Cherry Hills Village. <br /> <br />. There are no apparent problems or controversial issues regarding the floodplain information for this <br />community. This resolution pertains to Cherry Hills Village only, and not to Arapahoe County or other <br />coummunities within the county. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY RESPONSE: <br />Cherry HilIs Village officials sent a letter to the CWCB requesting designation and approval <br />of the April 17, 1989 report and maps. A telephone conversation was held between CWCB <br />and City staff, but the City did not fmd it necessary to hold a meeting to further discuss the <br />designation process. A site visit to the County may be performed at a future time to assess <br />f1oodprone areas and development activities. City staff is supportive of the Board's proposed <br />designation action. <br /> <br />tit <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br />The staff recommends Board approval of the floodplain resolution for Cherry Hills Village <br />designating the April 17, 1989 Flood Insurance Study and the accompanying Flood Insurance Rate <br />Maps. The detailed floodplain information contained in the report and on the maps meets the <br />Board's "Floodplain Designation and Approval Rules". The designation action will assure that <br />this floodplain information for Cherry Hills Village is explicitly approved by the state, thereby <br />complying with state statutory requirements. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />6 <br />
