<br />Program Performance and Management Objectives <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Strategic Planning <br /> <br />Regularly review objectives, implementation processes, and program needs within the Directors Office, <br />with every section, and with the DNR Executive Director. <br /> <br />Review the progress of activities and evaluate the purpose and goals of participation on an ongoing <br />basis. Adjust goals, objectives, work and performance plans, and staff priorities as necessary to meet <br />deadlines, avert crisis or take advantage of new opportunities. <br /> <br />Encourage consultation and cooperation among sections to coordinate objectives (especially with <br />respect to non-reimbursable accounts, implementation of policy, support to AGO/EDO and <br />coordination with external entities). <br /> <br />Implement planning objectives via the budget and purchasing process, Board meetings, and through <br />performance planning. <br /> <br />Create opportunities for active and beneficial participation in decision making by staff with the Board. <br /> <br />Create and implement practical and efficient administrative processes. <br /> <br />Motivate employees to improve performance, provide training opportunities and demonstrate effective <br />methods of supervision by reviewing and discussing workload, supervisory and performance planning <br />issues with staff. <br /> <br />Communication <br />Communicate information to keep the public informed and increase the public's knowledge about <br />water issues. <br />. Respond quickly to requests for information and help. <br />Identify and document accomplishments for inclusion in memos, reports, newsletters and press releases. <br /> <br />Martagement <br /> <br />Work to ensure the filling of vacancies in a timelY manner. <br /> <br />Create and implement appropriate office policies. <br /> <br />Work to ensure the on-time completion of document imaging and space improvement plans. <br /> <br />Ensure Board meetings are conducted to efficiently convey information and promote decision-making. <br /> <br />Prepare budgets and operate within them. <br /> <br />Provide communications to the Board in an effective manner, promoting two-way communications <br />between staff and the Board, to highlight key isslles for Board reaction and guidance. <br /> <br />Legislative <br /> <br />Develop and implement state and federal legislative priorities with Board direction. <br /> <br />Prepare, or supervise the preparation of, background and supporting materials for use during the <br />legislative session. <br /> <br />Effectively represent the Board at legislative hearings and in meetings. <br /> <br />.
