Identifying streams and lakes that would benefit from a Board held water right <br />. Quantifying the amount of water needed to protect the environment <br />. Filing for new water right appropriations <br />. Acquiring water rights via donation, lease, and purchase <br />. Monitoring the amount of water in streams and lakes to ensure water rights are <br />being met . <br />. Protecting existing water rights by filing Stlitements of Opposition, seeking <br />settlements or going to trial <br /> <br />Technical Support and Consulting - Provide technical support and consulting services to <br />CWCB and other state, federal, and local entities, as needed, in the areas of: <br /> <br />. Biological data collection and scientific ana\ysis <br />. Hydrologic and engineering analysis <br />. State water policy and water law <br />. Water quality <br />. Gaging and measurement <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Statewide Outreach and Education - Each Section shall perform outreach and education <br />including participating in public awareness and Program advocacy activities to increase <br />public and organizational understanding of CWCB and develop opportunities for each <br />Section to achieve their goals. . <br /> <br />Water Information - Make information assessabIIl to CWCB's customers regarding <br />stream and lake protection, instream water rights, and lake level protection, as well as <br />general information related to the Section, through publications, the Internet, databases, <br />and the imaging of documents. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1/14/2002 <br />
