Briefly, this afternoon we expect to take
you on a bus ride over a portion of the
Uncompahgre Valley, south of Montrose. On the
maps you have there we are going off the
limits. We are going beyond the limits that:
map can go, over an area known as Log Hill.
Then we will go into the area known as Pleasant:
Valley, down Dallas Creek, through Ridgway;
and back over to the Cow Creek area, then back
to the. limits again on your map of the
Project itsel~. We are interested in your
seeing what can be done in this area when
there is a supply of irrigation water available.

Then this evening it is planned that you
will attend the banquet at the Chipeta Cafe
sponsored by the Montrose Chamber of Commerce
and the City of Montrose. On both of these
occasions should any of you have brought
your wives or families, they are welcome
to go along on the trip this afternoon
and also are invited to the banquet this
evening. Part of this trip this afternoon
is going to be over a rather barren country.
However, there, are some spots of scenic
beauty.

Tomorrow, and at a time set by this
meeting today, there. is another tour planned,
and that will take you away from the
immediate vicinity of Montrose. Starting
south of Montrose again, we will go this time,
again on your map, up what is known as Dry
Cedar Creek, south of the town of Montrose,
up past an area called Kinikin Heights, and
up to an area called Shinn Park, and from
there to Bostwick Park. The Project, however,
serves all three of these areas. There you.:will
see the development that is necessary because
they have ample early water for the land
, which is now under irrigation. However,
they want to bring in additional land and
provide supplemental water for late
season irrigation.
