"Increased it four thousand dollars,
making it $18,000. We will have to go after
the Legislature for the $18,000. The work:
must be done. They must have the water
data on which to base their estimates. It
is in the Upper Colorado River Storage Act
that those projects are to be given priority."

"We are talking about an increase of some
three or four thousand dollars.. To me it
seEms imperative Colorado gets on the ball
and gets their project studies, and gets
ready for authorization. I think the Secretary
should include that in his request from the
Legislature.

I would move the Secretary be given the
authority to ask for a sufficient amount ox
money to carryon the cooperative investigation
work with the U.S.G.S. That the Secretary
be requested to appeal to the Legislature
for the amount of $18,000."

Motion seconded and carried.

nI don't quite get Mr. Peterson's motion.
In writing this letter, this increase from $14,000
to $18,000 should be included in the budget ,
now being considered."

"Until June 30, 1958."

"At the last meeting of this Board in Glenwood
Springs you approved, subject to Legislative
approval, the e~penditure of some $16,000.
Out of this, in our estimates which Dean
Crawford read to you, we are only suggesting
$8,000 of that be spent this year because we
have, in the ne~t fiscal year, the next question
coming up." .
