matters of projects being contracted within the authorized
cost is an administrative matter.

Mr. Saunders repeated that Mr. Will did a good job 'in
the wording of the resolution without ty~ng' too close to
any particular plan. I think our Director has to be given
a good deal of discretion.

11. The Chairman next introduced the subject of
mem~rials to the late Director of the Colorado Water Con-
servation Board, Clifford H. Ston~, and asked Mr. C~awford
to present the proposed materials.

Mr. Crawford read the following letter from Mr.
Harold H. Christy regarding renaming Granby Dam in honor
of Judge Stone:

Dear Mr. Crawford:

The directors of the National Reclamation Association
at their meeting in Washington, D. C. concurred in the
memorial passed by the Association at their annual meeting
in Long Beach, to the end that some large reclamation
. project in the State of Colorado be named after the late
Clifford H. Stone. The Board specifcally adopted a
resolution that the president appoint a committee to
draft a bill for Congress, naming the reservoir behind
Granby Dam "Lake Clifford H. Stone."
President Peterson appointed J. H. Moeur of Arizona
N. V. Sharp of Idaho and H. H. Christy of Colorado as a
committee to carry out the instruction of the Board. I
was designated chairman of this co~~ittee.
I am attaching a copy of the proposed bill, prepared
by William Welch, secretary of the Association. I am also
attaching copy of a letter dated Feb. 17, 1953, from Fred
G. Aandahl to Senator Millikin. I discussed tnis matter
