CRAWFORD

Since Colorado's portion of water
under the Colorado River Storage Project
Act is over 51%, the people in my area
feel that the appropriation should be
made in the next Session of Congress at
least. Another project that should re-
ceive attention is the Curecanti.

I

,

1 would like to recommend this pro-
cedure. That when Congress adjourns
this summer or fall, that we attempt to
get together all of our Congressional
delegation, Mr. Chilson, Mr. Dexheimer
and anyone else that might be of benefit
to us and meet with this Board:and try
to outline a procedure whereby Colorado
will not be left out in the next Congress."

"1 would be in favor of that and of
even going a little further. 1 have
always found that if you had some water
mmrs in the area on the ground that it
meant more to those people than all the
staff members or lawyers you could possi-
bly send.

They don't necessarily have to do
the talking but if they are there, the
people who are concerned will know there
is that much local interest. 1 would
suggest this rather than just having the
members of our Board.

The Project that is certainly entitled
to an early appropriation is the Paonia.
1 would suggest a meeting with the Board,
of those people mentioned by Mr. Peterson
at Montrose, Gunnison, Delta or some other
town close to those areas."

"That would be fine if we can get
our full Congressional Delegation to go
to any of those places but if it is
easier to get them together in Denver,
then let's have it here."

I

."We shouldn't overlook the Curecanti
at this time. I agree the best thing to
