The Board and Corps are the
Study Sponsors and have contracted Simons and Associates (Contractor) for the performance of the study. The
Study Sponsors prepared a detailed "Scope of Work" for the accomplishment of the required study tasks. The
Study Sponsors successfully negotiated a contract with the Contractor and gave a "Notice to Proceed" on
January I, 2000.

The purpose of the Study is to determine what opportunities may exist for the reallocation of the existing
reservoir storage. The existing reservoir provides a high degree of flood protection and recreational activities
for the Denver Metropolitan Area. Chatfield Reservoir does curently provide limited water supply storage.
Many water suppliers have requested that the Board and Corps perform this study to determine if additional
water supply storage can be made available within the existing facility.

As expected for this very complex study, additional tasks have come forth during the study. These required
tasks and study opportunities are:
1. Environmental investigations $25,000.00
2. Seismic (earthquake) investigations $17,500.00
3. Recreational planning and facility design $100,000.00
4.
