1055

C
o
P
Y

I

CITY OF LITTLETON, COLORADO
July 16, 1958

Colorado Water Conservation Board
State Office Bldg.,
Denver 2, Colorado

Gentlemen:

The City of Littleton understands that you have
on your agenda for July 18th the question of the use of
Cherry Creek Dam and it's impounded waters for recreation
purposes. This is a worth-while project for that territory,
and we do not in any way by this letter disprove of the same.

However, it will take certain amount of water to
supply the project, and the City of Littleton does ncl want
to be in the position of losing any of it's water rights to
irrigators below Cherry Creek, on account of you taking their
water for this project and they are demanding more water
from the South Platte River to supply their prior rights.

So, we suggest that you make an engineering study
of the project and its effect upon the rights in the South
Platte River, before approving the same.

Very truly yours,

/s/ Horatio S. Ramsey
City Attorney

HSR:b
cc: City Manager

I
