<br />1042 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, the purpose of that meeting were to <br />accelerate the water development plan of this state and to pro- <br />mote a broad public understanding of the many water problems <br />facing the State of Colorado, <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, there was a generous and enthusiastic <br />response to this meeting and its purposes by interested citizens <br />throughout the state, <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, Governor Stephen L. R. McNichols and <br />Attorney General Duke W. Dunbar exerted their prestige and coop- <br />erative efforts to bring about the successful cuimination of this <br />water congress. <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, John B. Barnard, Jr., First Assistant <br />Attorney General, worked untiringly for many months to coordinate <br />the miltitudinous details incident to the creation of the water <br />congress, . <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS" many other capable persons throughout <br />Colorado devoted their time without compensation to the preparation <br />of this meeting, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board at this regular meeting of the Board held in <br />Durango, Colorado, this 18th day of July, 1958, that this Hoard <br />extend this resolution of appreciation to Governor McNichols, Attorney <br />General Dunbar, First Assistant Attorney General John'B.Barnard, Jr., <br />and to those who cooperated with them, for their successful unified <br />efforts towards the advancement of an accelerated development of the <br />water resources of the State of Colorado.'" <br /> <br />MR. PETERSON: <br />MR. BARNARD ,JR. : <br /> <br />"I move the adoption of that resolution." <br /> <br />"I second the motion." <br /> <br />Upon vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MR. About a month ago, I came to Durango <br />and attended a meeting of interested Government <br />agencies and water users concerning the Florida <br />Project. The meeting was well attended and there <br />is considerable local interest here in the Florida <br />Proj ect. <br /> <br />I also attended a meeting at Gunnison <br />recently with Mr. Barnard, Sr. and Mr. Smith of <br />the Colorado River Board, with the view of getting <br />a conservancy district organized in that area to <br /> <br />,. <br />I <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />I <br />
