line in the middle of the flood designations. This is the appro}dmate
center line of the stream and you will note the reference points which
I referred to before. These are pinpoint locations for the noted
flood levels. At these particular points, you can get an exact ele-
vation: in between the points, you will have to interpolate. On '1
plate 5 are the stream profiles. They are a graphical representation
of the water surface elevation and show the stream data and the flood
depths. Plate 6 is continuous of the profiles. Plate 7 shows some
cross sections. He have shown cross sec.tions which are identified
ba~( on the flood outline plates. This is just to show you a cross
sectional configuration of the flood plains: the depths of the two
floods are indicated by respective symbols.

Are there any questions on this?

Hr. Stapleton: Can you rela-te the progress on the Hount Carbon dam
.to us?

ltr. Patenode: No, I can't give you enough on that. As far as I know,
it is progressing. There are problems . .

itr. Stapleton: Do any members of the board have any questions?
Larry, you might tell us briefly \V'hat you know about Hount Carbon.

i1r. Sparks: The board has done all it can do and the state has entered
into a contract for its part on the Bear Creek project. We have had
some delay in regard to the recreation aspect due to the fact that
the Division of Game, Fish and Parks was split into two entities,
now the Division of 11ildlife and the Division of Parks and Outdoor
Recreation. 11e had some delay while these two divisions were trying
to determine who does what. The Division of Parks is now taking over
this particular project. 11e have recently executed a contract with
the federal government and it has now been approved by the Omaha office
and it is now at the Washington level. I called -this morning and was
told that within .two or three weeks approval will be granted and land
acquisition will be initiated immediately thereafter. It now appears
that land acquisition for the project \'lill start in the very near

future. I

11r. Stapleton: Thank you, Larry. Now this resolution that you have
here in substance is the same resolution that we have considered in the
past for other areas and it requests that copies of the resolution be
sent to the appropriate county and municipal officials. Does anyone
want to move the motion that it be approved?

-49-
