<br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING MINUTES <br />Ramada Inn <br />Durango, Colorado <br /> <br />July 9, 1975 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Conservation Board met, pursuant to notice, at <br />9:00 a.m., Benjamin F. Stapleton, Chairman, presiding. <br /> <br />MR. STAPLETON: We will now call this regularly scheduled meeting of <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board to order. <br /> <br />I would <br />Hooper. <br />Hooper, <br /> <br />like to welcome a new member of <br />John, glad to have you aboard. <br />right? <br /> <br />our board, John Brownell from <br />John is a rancher-farmer, from <br /> <br />MR. BROWNELL: Yes. <br /> <br />MR. STAPLETON: Hooper we have known before, because that was Quincy <br />Cornelius' home. Quincy has served for about twelve years on our board. <br />Quincy, would you like to make an introduction, formally, of Mr. <br />Brownell ? <br /> <br />MR. CORNELIUS: John is my neighbor and he has served eight years on <br />the Board of Agriculture for the State of Colorado. <br /> <br />He runs an irrigated farm over there, six quarter sections sprinkler <br />irrigated and flood irrigated. He's very knowledgeable about the water <br />problems in the valley. He's served on the board of the Rio Grande <br />Water Conservation District. I know that you will welcome his input <br />to your decisions on this Board. <br /> <br />MR. STAPLETON: Thank you, Quincy. Also, we will be expecting <br />Bob Jackson from Pueblo who was appointed by the Governor to replace <br />Hugh Pickrel. <br /> <br />Speaking in that vein, we would welcome back a "reappointee", Fred <br />Kroeger, reappointed by the Governor. Fred, nice to have you back. <br /> <br />MR. KROEGER: Glad to be part of the group for another three years. <br />I'm delighted and I am also delighted to have the Board meet in my part <br />of the State. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />MR. STAPLETON: Next, I would like to introduce Senator Noble. Dan, <br />nice to have you aboard with us. Dan has been very helpful and instru- <br />mental in all the water litigation we have had up in the legislature <br />and is more knowledgeable than, at least I am, about water 1Iiatters. <br />And, so, we are delighted to have you with us. <br /> <br />SENATOR NOBLE: Thank you. <br /> <br />MR.
