he said that he would like to have
a little more time to go into the
study of this. There are two things
that are not included in the present
plan, i. e., the raising of potatoes
and head lettuce and he thought if there
was a potential it would be possible to
raise that repayment figure. Mr. Jerman
may have something more on that than 1
have. Mr. Crabtree said that he was
satisfied that with a little more time
for study, this raise might be possible."

"The only thing considered in the
original report was hay."

"They are at a very high elevation
and he wanted to go into that further."

Mr. Nelson gave a brief report on a meeting held
by interested parties, organizations and agencies in Grand
Junction regarding the De Beque Unit.

Proposed Resqlution relative to increased
annual appropriations for ground water
studies. Dean Crawford."

"At the last meeting of the Board tne
Director was instructed to prepare a reso-
lution in regard to this matter - one
which would ask for $50,000 for this pur-
pose this year and also ask the General
Assembly to recommend an appropriation
of $100,000 next year, knowing that it
couldn't be done with this Legislature
since they could not bind a following
Legislature. 1 have prepared this reso-
lution for discussion and for your re-
commendations. As to whom it should be'
sent - whether it should be sent to the
House as a ~hole, to the Water Committee
of the House or to the Speaker of the
House, or to the Committee on Appropria-
tions~ 1 don't know."

Mr. Crawford then read the resolution. (See Appen-

dix B).
