It includes approximate IOO-year floodplain information for Bates Lake <br />Area, Beaver Brook, Beaver Creek, Blue Creek, Brush Creek, Casto Creek, Coal Creek, Dutch Creek, <br />Giant Gulch, Guy Gulch, Jackson Gulch Tributary, Kennedy Gulch, Ketner Creek, Lans Gulch, Last <br />Resort Creek, Little Dry Creek, Little Dry Creek Tributaries Band C, Massey Draw, North Fork Deer <br />Creek, Shaw Heights Tributary, Sloans Lake Area, Soda Creek, South Fork Deer Creek, South Turkey <br />Creek, West Resort Creek, and Woman Creek. The studied streams are in the South Platte River <br />watershed. <br />Technicallssues: This study includes all major waterways within Jefferson County and its incorporated <br />communities and updates the maps to a Geographic Information System (GIS) platform. This restudy <br />incorporates a number of new studied stream reaches, both detailed and approximate. In addition, a <br />number of Letters of Map Revision were also incorporated. The Towns of Bow Mar, Lakeside, and <br />Mountain View have no identified floodplains. <br />Community response: This study was prepared by FEMA in cooperation with, the Urban Drainage and <br />Flood Control District (UD&FCD), and Jefferson County and its incorporated municipalities as part of <br />the National Map Modernization Program. One key element of the Map Modernization Program is <br />community involvement throughout the process. Prior to publishing the new study, a final coordination <br />meeting was held in which members of FEMA, CWCB, Jefferson County, and its incorporated <br />muniCipalities were present. The study was fully accepted and endorsed by all agencies at this meeting. <br />Staff fmdings: The subject Flood Insurance Study revises and therefore supersedes previous versions of <br />the County's regulatory floodplain information. CWCB staff has determined that the subject floodplain <br />information for Jefferson County and its incorporated communities is in conformance with the CWCB's <br />rules and regulations for floodplain designation and approval. <br />Staff recommendation; Staff recommends that the Board: 1) designate and approve the 100-year detailed <br />and approximate floodplain information contained in said report for Jefferson County and incorporated <br />municipalities, and 2) authorize staff to prepare a floodplain resolution to be signed by the Director and <br />transmitted to Jefferson County, its incorporated municipalities, UD&FCD, and FEMA.
