Map Modernization Implementation Plan (MMIP) Report <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br />PAt the M.ar~h2002 Board meeting staff presented information to the Board regarding floodplain <br />mapping activities in Colorado and the proposed significant increase in federal funding for such <br />. . ....- . - . activities: . President Bush in his proposed FY '03 budget has provided more than $300 million <br />for floodplain mapping nationwide. Congress actually approved $150 million for floodplain <br />. - . mappiirgactivities:--The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), now under the <br />Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is the lead federal agency for coordinating efforts <br />related to the floodplain mapping and multi-hazard activities nationwide. <br /> <br />. The CWCB is the State Coordinating Agency for the National Flood Insurance Program and has <br />been working very closely with FEMA and other partners regarding modernization of floodplain <br />mapping products. Specific activities/products are described below. <br /> <br />MAP MODERNIZAtION IMPLEMENTATION PLAN <br />. .
