Additional storage would be <br />provided by the offstream Southern Ute Reservoir, which would <br />receive water diverted from the La Plata River near the Colorado- <br />New Mexico state line. <br /> <br />The project would provide an average annual water supply of <br />198,200 acre-feet, including 118,100 acre-feet for the <br />irrigation of 70,100 acres and 80,100 acre-feet for municipal and <br />industrial uses. Of the lands to be irrigated, about 14,200 <br />acres are situated on the Indian reservations. Of the 80,100 <br />acre-feet allocated for municipal and industrial uses, about <br />41,700 acre-feet would be provided to Colorado, and 38,400 I <br />acre-feet would be provided to New Mexico. The supply for <br />Colorado would include 8,200 acre-feet for the Durango area, <br />1,000 acre-feet for the rural communities in the La Plata River <br /> <br />-2- <br />
