Walcher <br />Executive Director <br /> <br />Rod Kuharich <br />CWCB Director <br /> <br />Dan McAuliffe <br />Deputy Director <br /> <br />Update and Reauest for Board Action on the Technical Assistance to Covered Entities Proiect <br /> <br />At the July 2003 Board meeting, staff presented the Board with a Strategy for Providing Technical <br />Assistance to Covered Entities. At the Board's direction, staff reviewed key elements from the proposed <br />strategy, indicated in the list below. <br /> <br />. Develop and Maintain Approved Plan Information <br />. Develop Internal Policy/Guidelines for Water Conservation Planning <br />· Evaluate Additional Policy Changes through Statute/Board Rules <br /> <br />This Board memorandum highlights those activities that have been performed to date to characterize and <br />evaluate these three Phase II strategy elements and makes recommendations for further actions regarding the <br />execution and completion of the strategy elements that the Board directed staff to address. In particular, the <br />main staff activities have, and will continue to involve development of internal policies and draft statute <br />language addressing water conservation. <br /> <br />Develop and Maintain Approved Plan Information <br />This task continues to occur on an as-needed basis as new water conservation plans are received. Plans are <br />reviewed, imaged (for web site posting), and filed. No additional action is required on this task. <br /> <br />Develop Internal Policy/Guidelines for Water Conservation Planning and <br />Evaluate Additional Policv Chanl!es throul!h Statute/Board Rules <br />These strategy elements relate to the development of new internal policies and state statutes that govern <br />water conservation. To move forward with these actions, a process such as the one pictured below is <br />recommended: <br /> <br /> <br />Flood Protection. Water Project Planning and Financing.
