I

I

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. JENNINGS:

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. JENNINGS:

MR. StAPLETON:

MR. JENNINGS:

however, when the winter weather set in we
did move those drills out. We anticipate
getting them back in as soon as we have
favorable weather this spring, Larry."

"Bob, maybe you'd answer a question for
me and maybe some of the other members of the
Board and the audience don't know, but how do
you collect your runoff information? What
agencies are involved? How often do you do
it? I see some divergent percentages in read-
ing the paper, at least I believe I do, and
I know it's important and interesting to all
of us so maybe you can briefly give us a
Ii ttle background on that."

"Are you talking about the forecast for
the runoff?"

"Right. "

"Well, I think there are probably three
or four agencies that are making these fore-
casts. I think the Weather Bureau comes out
with a forecast; the S.C.S.; I know that the
Bureau makes a forecast. There may be others
but I don't recall offhand and I believe each
one of them haVe a little different basis.
Now there are probably individuals in the
audience that can give you more detailed in-
formation on it. I think the Weather Bureau
mainly gives a little more weight to precipi~
tation. I think maybe the S.C.S. gives quite
a little weight to their snow surveys. So
you do get, particularly in the early stages,
some differences in these forecasts. I think
as they all come down towards the end of the
winter, the end of the snow periods, they
become closer together. But I know you do get
some differences in these forecasts, particu-
larly early in the season."

"Is there any coordination between these
agencies that are involved?"

"I couldn't answer for all of them, Ben,
