No. 159 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />March 17, 1980 <br />R E 2 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood <br />Plain Information, Breckenridge, Colorado, Part I - Blue River, and <br />Part II - French, Illinois, Lehman, and Sawmill Gulches," dated <br />1975, was prepared by Leonard Rice Consulting Water Engineers, Inc., <br />at the request of the Town of Breckenridge and the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as <br />requested by the Town of Breckenridge, by Floodplain Resolution <br />Number 48, adopted January 14, 1976, approved and designated the <br />floodplains described in the 1975 report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, <br />Town of Breckenridge, Colorado," whieh includes floodplain informa- <br />tion and data for the Blue River, Illinois Gulch, Lehman Gulch, and <br />Sawmill Gulch, dated December 1979, has been prepared by Gingery <br />Associates, Inc., under contract with the Federal Insurance <br />Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report describes and outlines the <br />floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff <br />channels or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Breckenridge has requested the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve t~e <br />floodplain areas as set fOrth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses <br />on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />~ <br />
