WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
Hazard Area Delineation, Lee Gulch and Little Creek, City of
Littleton and Arapahoe County, Colorado," dated July, 1977, was
prepared by Ketchum, Konkel, Barrett, Nickel and Austin, Inc., at
the request of the urban Drainage and Flood Control District, the
City of Littleton. and Arapahoe County; and

WHEREAS, the COlorado Water Conservation Board, as
requested Py the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, by
FlOOdplain Resolution Number 86, adopted on November 15, 1977,
approved and designated the floodplains described in said report;
and

WHEREAS, the City of Littleton has submitted new data
and technical information to the ColOrado Water Conservation Board
that indicate that there is not sufficient depth of flow, rate of
discharge, and drainage basin area to justify the 100-year flood-
plain designation for certain parts of the South Fork of Lee Gulch;
and

WHEREAS, the city of Littleton has requested that the
Colorado Water Conservation Board rescind the 100-year floodplain
designation fOr certain parts of the South Fork of Lee Gulch; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised statutes
1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in
the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado
Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of
local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations fOr land uses
on or along any storm Or floodwater runoff channel or basin only
after designation and approval Py the Colorado Water Conservation
Board; and

~HEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, directs the Colo~ado Water Conservation Board to
designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins
and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of
lOcal jurisdictions; and

WHEREAS, the staff of the BOard has reviewed said new
data and technical information and does hereby recommend to the
Colorado Water Conservation Board that the Board rescind the 100-
