FPR 01-542: Town of Ridgway, Colorado, Flood; Insurance Study dated September 27,1985 <br />was prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. It includes detailed floodplain <br />delineations for the Uncompahgre River and! approximate floodplain delineations for <br />Cottonwood Creek. There appear to be no major technical problems or issues with the current <br />floodplain mapping. Community officials were notified of the CWCB's proposed designation <br />action by letter. Meetings between CWCB staff and local officials have been scheduled and <br />will take place in the near future to discuss the designation process. The proposed action for the <br />Town of Ridgway floodplain infonnation is desigrlation and approval by the Board in order to <br />meet statutory requirements. The CWCB's enginebring contractor has also drafted a hydrology <br />addendum to provide technical infonnation to supplement the 1985 Flood Insurance Study. <br /> <br />4. FPR 01-543: Pitkin County, Colorado and Incorporated Areas, Flood Insurance Study <br />dated September 30, 1988 was prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. It <br />includes both detailed and approximate floodplai!l delineations for numerous streams in the <br />county. The Board has already designated a preVious version of this Flood Insurance Study <br />(FIS) dated June 1987. The 1988 version of thelFIS (proposed for designation at this time) <br />includes updated approximate (Zone A) floodplain infonnation for Brush Creek. The new <br />Brush Creek floodplain begins at the Snowmass Gorporate limit and ends upstream at a point <br />that is approximately 2.5 miles upstream from the Snowmass corporate limit. Community <br />officials were notified of the CWCB's proposed designation action by letter. Meetings between <br />CWCB staff and local officials have been scheduled and will take place in the near future to <br />discuss the designation process. The proposed: action for the Pitkin County floodplain <br />infonnation is designation and approval by the Biard in order to meet statutory requirements. <br />The CWeB's engineering contractor win also be I'roducing a hydrology addendum to provide <br />technical infonnation to supplement the 1988 Floo\:! Insurance Study. <br />i <br />, <br /> <br />5. FPR 01-544: Weld County and Town of Eaton, Colorado, Flood Insurance Study dated <br />September 22, 1999 was prepared by the Federal ;Emergency Management Agency. Previous <br />versions of the Weld County Flood Insurance Stu~y (FIS) have been designated and approved <br />by the Board. The 1999 version of the FIS (propo$ed for designation at this time) includes new <br />detailed floodplain infonnation for the Slough in the vicinity of Severance, Colorado. CWCB <br />staff was involved with the technical aspects df the study, and the U.S. Anny Corps of <br />, <br />Engineers, Omaha District, perfonned the analyses as requested by CWCB staff. Discussion <br />between CWCB staff and Weld County staff h~ve already taken place, and all parties are <br />agreeable to the new floodplain infonnation. The proposed action for the Weld County <br />floodplain infonnation is designation and approval by the Board in order to meet statutory <br />requirements. . <br /> <br />i <br />Flood Protection.
