A PowerPoint Presentation and discussion of the
study results will be led by Eric Mende of Fruit a and Mike Meininger of Mesa County. The CWCB
Flood Protection Staff would like to recognize these gentlemen and all of the participants in this
study for a comprehensive watershed approach to all of the issues in all of the affected communities.
Their approach and project design led to an efficient and effective project that methodically
addressed a longstanding issue in the Grand Valley. The project managers patiently worked with and
educated the steering committee to build consensus with the Valley's citizens. Additional support
from the CWCB and local governments will be required to fully implement project
recommendations. The Board may want to show case this project findings and reconnnendations for
other basin interests or metropolitan regions where a multi-jurisdictional issues exist that require
consensus and resolution and then project implementation.

Flood Protection.
